Hello there! I just wanted to suggest that you prune in spring or summer. It's also a good idea to take extra care after pruning, so your plant doesn't get stressed.
Sometimes, a leaf might show signs of a problem. If that happens, use a sharp pair of scissors to cut it. I'd recommend cutting the leaf at the base. Then, you can throw away the cuttings.
